Biography: The pilot of the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam, Kira Yamato is the protagonist of the story. Having no idea that he would be thrown into such a conflict, Kira was an average 15 year old in Heliopolis. A student at the Engineering College, he had no worries. After ZAFT attacked the neutral colony however, he suddenly found himself to be the pilot of the remaining Gundam mobile suit of the Earth Alliance. A Coordinator, he finds himself surrounded by Naturals on the Archangel, and is subject to many trials. Like some before him, Kira has trouble accepting his role as the Gundam pilot. He has good reason to, as it caused a rift between him and his friend, Aslan Zara, and his superiors are eager to use his abilities to their advantage.
